Leon Young
Strategic Advisor
Dr. Leon Young cultivates strategic thinking. Dr. Young is a highly qualified and decorated Army Officer with over 20 years of experience in strategic leadership, management and training. Dr. Young is a Chief of Defence Force Fellow, Fellow of the World Future Society, Visiting Fellow at the Centre for Defence and Strategic Centre, and Director of Huon Strategic. Leon has taught post-graduate courses on strategic thinking, strategy, capability development and future studies. He is a member of the Association of Professional Futurists, Secretary of the Australian Society for Operations Research (ACT) and a respected international speaker on futures and strategic thinking. He holds a BSc, MSc in Operations Research and his PhD dissertation is on Computational Strategic Thinking Models. Leon was awarded the 2016 Leo Mahoney Bursary and the 2017 Chauvel Prize for his contribution to National Security. Leon is passionate about preparing individuals and groups for the uncertain future.
